Dongting Lake

It is the second freshwater lake in China. Total area is more than 1,300m2. Since ancient time, it was widely spread for wonderful sight by poets and artists, so there are lots of poems describing natural and astonishing beauty. The water and the sky merge in one color, and the wonders of natural beauty and boundless, Li Bai, a famous poet in Chinese history, wrote.

1）Yueyang Tower

It's is on the shore of Lake Dongting. Alongside the Pavilion of Prince Teng and Yellow Crane Tower, it is one of the Three Great Towers of Jiangnan. Yueyang Tower became famous for Memorial to Yueyang Tower written by Fan Zhongyan, an eminent minister of the Northern Song dynasty in China. Its roof covered with yellow glazed tiles has a smooth curve, precipitous yet warped, just like a general's helmet in ancient China.

2) Xiaoqiao Tomb

Xiaoqiao is a gorgeous woman in three kingdoms period and married to Zhouyu, a famous general. It was said to be burial place for Xiaoqiao.
