Pingyao is the only well-preserved city during Ming and Qing Dynasty in China with a particular characteristic of imposing buildings associated with banking. It was the major banking center for the whole of China in the 19th and early 20th centuries and on this full day tour, you'll experience the Old City Wall, Rishengchang Bank Museum, Old City Government, Money Escorting Bureau, Ming and Qing Shopping Street in the famous ancient town.
Day 1 Pingyao Ancient City
The driver and tour guide pick you up from the hotel in Pingyao county or railway station in the morning, then start your exciting tour to Pingyao Ancient City that still maintains its intact charm blended with ancient walls, elegant courtyards and scattered temples with a history of over 2,700 years. Visit the Old City Wall; one of the four famous best-preserved old city walls of China and is also one of the oldest and largest brick and stone city walls in China which resembles a tortoise from a bird's eye view. Then next, move to Ri Sheng Chang Bank Museum; the first money exchange shop in China, and also famous for "Hui Tong Tian Xia" (business connecting the whole world). visit the Old City Government, mainly built in Ming dynasty as an administration in feudal China like today's court of justice. Spend some time here and learn just how the governor settled lawsuits in the ancient time. Next stop will be the Money Escorting Bureau which is now a small museum today reserved for commemorating its ancient role. The tour then shuts down in the Ming and Qing Shopping Street with hundreds of shops, stands, old-style hotels and restaurants opened since Ming and Qing dynasty. At last, you'll be escorted back to the hotel.

3.Pick-up Service: To ensure the morning pick-up going smoothly as scheduled, we suggest you choose downtown hotels within the fourth ring road of the city. An additional transfer fee will be incurred if your hotel is outside the above mentioned area. If your hotel is located in a narrow lane or an apartment block, we suggest you find the nearest hotel on the main street as your pick-up point.
Cancellation Policy:
If you cancel at least 7 day(s) in advance of the scheduled departure, there is no cancellation fee.
If you cancel between 3 and 6 day(s) in advance of the scheduled departure, there is a 50 percent cancellation fee.
If you cancel within 2 day(s) of the scheduled departure, there is a 100 percent cancellation fee.
Hotel, flight and train ticket fees are not refundable.
