The Labrang Monastery is one of the six great monasteries of the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism and the holy place for believers to study Buddhism. the hottest period, there were over four thousand monks. 

Labrang Monastery is the most typical Tibetan style. The symbols of the whole construction are the whitein the northeast and northwest. There is Wensi College, an Exoteric Buddhism college and five Esoteric Buddhism colleges in the monastery.College is the center of the monastery, also got the name of the Grand Sutra Hall. Buddha halls are located in the northwestern part around the Grand Sutra Hall. Other halls are built in a shape similar to a crescent moon, all wonderfully ornamented.
