Bifengxia is situated in 8 kilometers from Ya’an City, 150 kilometers from Chengdu, there are 3 parts in Bifengxia scenic site: Bifengxia Mountain Park, Bifengxia Wildlife Park, and Bifengxia Panda Bears Research Base Center.
　　Bifengxia Mountain Park and Bifengxia Wildlife Park were operated and owned by Wanguan Group; and Bifengxia Panda Bears Research Base Center was owned and operated by China Conservation and Research Center (Wolong) for the Giant Panda. It is the branch of Wolong Panda Center with nnual average temperature 15℃, average in July 23℃, average in January 5℃. and raining date more than 200 days per year. Altitude it is from 700 to 1971meters.
　　Bifengxia Panda Base is a branch of the CCPCGP in Wolong. It was built in 2001 by the government for the safety and development of the endangered species of the giant panda due to their increasing captive breeding numbers. With an investment of CNY27.6 million, the first-stage project of the base has been completed in October 2003 and put into service in 2004. As a comprehensive eco-park for giant panda, the Bifengxia Panda Base specializes in the raising, breeding and rescuing of giant panda as well as the education to the masses.
　　Bifengxia Panda Base is a paradise for giant pandas with capacious spaces,high vegetation coverag,and superior ecological conditions. Bifengxia Giant Panda Base has become a paradise for giant pandas, a national treasure, with the function of raising, breeding and rescuing giant pandas. It has over 20 giant pandas. Here visitors can see pandas more in their natural environment than at the Chengdu Panda Breeding Center. At the base, the pandas are trained in a simulated wild environment and returned to nature once researches show that they are fit enough to survive in the wild. Volunteer programs gives a unique experience of getting close contact with the cuddly giant pandas. During the program, participants can work with skilled panda keepers to take care of the pandas. Interesting activities include cleaning and weighing fresh bamboo to feed the pandas, cleaning panda enclosures and bathing the pandas. At the end of the program, each participant is issued a certificate which proves their volunteering at the base.
